Update: May 11 2020

Hi All

So it has been confirmed that NZ will move to level 2 11.59pm Wednesday night. Schools are to be ready on Monday 18th May to receive students.

Homai School will be holding 2 Teacher Only days (Wednesday 13th & Thursday 14th May) to ensure we are well prepared for teaching & learning.
Friday 15th May the school will be closed. No one will be onsite as the cleaners will be doing their final sanitisation clean in preparations to opening. So for those families whose students have been attending level 3 bubbles, tomorrow will be the last day at school (As per our notice last week) with the added information of our Friday school closure.

Returning to school at level 2. School will not operate the same as before we went into lockdown. Teachers may still be taking online / home learning for those who do not return back to school straight away. So yes there will still be opportunities for online home learning.

We will need to follow a rigid staggered pick up / Drop-off / break times to keep physical distancing to the minimal of 10. So everyone will need to follow this process to keep everyone as safe as possible. Parents will not be able to congregate outside classrooms /Playgrounds / office areas. Our staff will be present to usher cars : families in and out as smoothly as possible. We contemplate wet weather so please support us in these trialling times as we re-enter school life together. Entering our office area will be 2 people at a time with a waiting area should parents need to come in, otherwise all inquires can be communicated via school contacts – phone / txt / email.

I look forward to seeing all our tamariki and I am thankful to all our parents and whanau for your love and support.
Please continue to take care

Much Aroha
