UPDATE – FRIDAY 14 AUGUST 2020

Kia ora whānau

I trust that you are all well and have enjoyed spending quality time with your  tamariki at home for the last two days. You will have seen this afternoon that Alert Level 3 has been extended until Wednesday 26 August 2020 in Auckland.

Therefore Homai Primary School will only be open on Monday 17 August 2020 for the children of Essential Services Workers:

  • Pharmaceutical
  • Healthcare
  • Supermarkets
  • Dairies
  • Petrol Stations
  • Schools
  • Police, Fire, Ambulance

But we advise you to keep your child home if possible.  Current government advice remains to work and learn from home if you can.

All other areas of the work sector are not considered essential.

You may be returning to work however you will need to consider that your children need to stay at home.

It is vital that we know which children of our essential services workers will need to return to school because our roll has grown since we were last in Alert Level 3. Please correspond with your child’s teacher if he/she will be at school on Monday.

It is important that our school and team can manage demand so that we can be confident about the health and safety measures we will put in place for staff and children on-site.

It will also be important that we can keep a consistent daily record of attendance – a Level 3 on-site roll of learners.

Take care and be safe whānau.
